About the Opportunity The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Public Works Paving Operator II based in Lake Country, BC. Reporting to the Public Works Paving Crew Leader, the Public Works Paving Operator II is responsible for constructing maintaining, and rehabilitating paved road surfaces and related infrastructure to ensure a safe, durable, and high‑quality environment for the community. This position performs skilled paving and maintenance work on roads, sidewalks, rights‑of‑way, and drainage interfaces, frequently utilizing heavy equipment and specialized paving tools. The role also supports the upkeep of parks and public works facilities where paving and surface restoration are required, including pathways, curbs, paved lots, and associated infrastructure. The Public Works Paving Operator II is a highly adaptable individual with a specialized paving skill set, capable of working collaboratively across public works and utility operations in both scheduled paving programs and snow removal operations. More About You To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of Grade 12 education. Additionally, a Public Works Paving Operator II is required to have a minimum of two years work experience in civil construction and a minimum of one year experience with asphalt paving. A valid British Columbia Class 5 driver’s license is required with Class 3 preferred.
