About You / What We Are Looking For We are currently recruiting for up to 15 Maintenance Worker positions – these positions are a variety of different specialization, sections, and shifts. Please visit www.coquitlam.ca/careers to review the specific details and to apply. We are recruiting up to four (4) Maintenance Worker Roads. As a Maintenance Worker Roads, you will be performing skilled manual work involving the maintenance and repair of roadways, streets, boulevards and pedestrian passages. In this position you will have a variety of daily tasks such as snow plowing, asphalt paving, installing & inspecting street signs, clearing vegetation, assisting in concrete finishing tasks, and operating single and tandem axle dump trucks. You may also be called upon to maintain, clean, test and perform routine repairs on various pumps, valves, hydrants and related equipment and perform pipe laying on water, storm and sanitary sewers initially under the supervision of peers. We are also recruiting for up to three (3) self-motivated, responsible, and skilled individuals to perform essential capital replacement work as a Maintenance Worker Utilities on our Capital Construction team. Working remotely onsite with five co-workers, you will install and construct large diameter water, storm and sanitary mains and operate, maintain, clean, test, repair and adjust fire hydrants, pumps and related equipment. You will also repair or replace water, sanitary and storm services and perform maintenance and routine repair of roads, streets, boulevards, and pedestrian walkways. We are also looking to recruit up to four (4) regular full-time Maintenance Worker Utilities in our Water section and up to five (5) regular full-time Maintenance Worker Utilities in our Sewer Drainage section of the Public Works Division. As a Maintenance Worker Utilities, you will be performing skilled manual work repairing, maintaining, and constructing waterworks, sewer and drainage infrastructure. You will also ensure City fire hydrants and pumps are operating efficiently in addition to repairing or replacing mains, services, valves, and pressure reducing valves. You will also operate relevant equipment such as hand held tools such as cut off saws, road saws, jumping jack, and power broom, snow plows and heavy equipment up to and including tandem axle dump trucks. All of these positions will require you to work as part of a team and to demonstrate excellent customer service skills with members of the public and co-workers. Minimum Qualifications
