The City is seeking Temporary Full-Time Engineering Workers (up to 2) in the Engineering Operations Division of the Engineering, Parks and Environment Department. These assignments begin as early as May 2026 and end October 23, 2026; subject to operational requirements the assignment may be extended. The successful candidates will perform a variety of manual duties including mowing and trimming grass and weeds, keeping the boulevard free of weeds, invasive plants, litter, loose materials including leaves or debris, and keeping the boulevards in a tidy condition. This assignment may also be assigned to other crews supporting road and sewer/water maintenance.

RATE OF PAY: $33.86 per hour (2024 CUPE rates).

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Temporary Full-time employees are paid 6% of their regular earnings in lieu of paid vacation and become eligible for benefits after six months of continuous employment.

The successful candidate will have Grade 12 plus experience in performing boulevard maintenance and general construction and maintenance work, including skill in the use of a variety of tools and equipment and the stamina and coordination to perform manual work outdoors in all weather conditions. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required (a Class 3 is desirable).
