The successful candidate will plan and lead the ongoing maintenance of all light vehicles owned and operated by the municipality, including light trucks and cars powered by diesel, gasoline, or hybrid systems. These vehicles may be computer-controlled and include hydraulic power systems. The role also includes maintenance of small engine equipment such as compactors, mowers, weed whips, chain saws, and generators. As a relief equipment operator, the position may assist the equipment operations team with duties such as swamping for the vacuum/jet-rodding truck, operating loaders, winter plow trucks, bucket trucks, and assisting with crane truck operations. Work may occur remotely at jobsites for repairs or equipment retrieval and will include outdoor work in all weather conditions. Participation in the after-hours call-out standby rotation is required. |
