Position Duties and Responsibilities
The City of West Kelowna has openings to fill various EOCP Certified Operator positions in our Public Works – Utility
Department. The focus of these positions will be to support Utilities staff with the Operation and Maintenance of the
City’s Water Distribution and Wastewater Collections Networks.
We welcome applicants with EOCP Certifications in Water Distribution and/or Wastewater Collections with proven
knowledge and hands on experience of the operation and maintenance of the associated municipal infrastructure.
The positions will work 40 hours per week and the successful applicants will take part in the after-hours Utilities Standby
roster.
Our Ideal Candidate
• Grade 12 education
• Current Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) certificate in Water Distribution and/or
Wastewater Collections Levels I through IV
• Water Engineering Technology Diploma (or similar) and/or preferred
• 2-5 years related experience (water or wastewater O&M and civil earth works)
• Occupational First Aid Level I
• Class 5 Drivers License
• Good physical condition with sufficient strength and stamina to perform heavy manual work outside in the
presence of all types of weather conditions
