Health and Safety Coordinator Summerland is an idyllic small town located in the heart of the Okanagan Valley with a population of approximately 12,000 residents. Reporting to the Director of Works and Infrastructure, the District of Summerland is currently accepting applications for a qualified Health and Safety Coordinator (exempt position). The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing and leading the District of Summerland’s health and safety programs. Through collaboration with the organization’s leaders and the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee this individual will provide the leadership to establish a culture where safety in day-to-day business is of paramount priority. This position provides support to staff across the organization with the goal of timely and appropriate education and training, ensures all safety reporting is compliant and within appropriate regulation and timelines, and coordinates the continued implementation and augmentation of the District’s Occupational Health & Safety Program.
