|Engineering Inspector 2|
This is technical, regulatory, and inspection work performed in the Engineering Operations Department. The incumbent performs field inspections of work performed by City crews, private contractors and utility companies to ensure compliance with City standards, regulations and/or by-law provisions.
The incumbent performs infrastructure maintenance inspections of roads, walkways, bridges, and downtown core to verify City infrastructure assets are in acceptable condition and potential risks are mitigated. In addition, the position will process enquiries and complaints from the public and enforce compliance to specific criteria. Some independence of judgement and action is exercised within the confines of established guidelines and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from a diploma program from an Institute of Technology in an appropriate discipline plus sound related Municipal engineering experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

HOURS OF WORK:
Hours of work are governed by Schedule “B” (C) - based on an eight (8) hour day, forty (40) hour week.
This position requires strong leadership with an ability to work in a team setting, along with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skill and the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet tight deadlines Preference will be given to candidates who have 3 or more years of related municipal experience inspecting projects which involved water, sewer, drainage and road works. Experience with MMCD specifications would be an asset.
